The West Ohio Food Bank, along with Shared Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, held a “Farm Tour” on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Farm visits included Wiers Farm in Willard, OH, a luncheon and community discussion at First Lutheran Church/FISH Food Pantry in Tiffin, OH, and a visit to Malone Orchards in Berlin Heights, OH.
At the community discussion, speakers included Tommie Harner, CEO, West Ohio Food Bank, Julie Chase-Morefield, CEO of Shared Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, and Joree Novotny, Executive Director of the Ohio Association of Food Banks, based in Columbus.
Invitations to attend the farm tour, whether it be for one stop, the luncheon, or the entire day, were extended to state and federal lawmakers, community members, local mayors, as well as county commissioners, and county farm bureau representatives.
A huge thank you to all of the farmers involved, as well as First Lutheran Church in Tiffin, along with Catherine Gase and the FISH Food Pantry serving Tiffin and Seneca County residents for being such gracious hosts, as we enjoyed fresh baked goods, as well as lunch from Reino’s in Tiffin.
