The West Ohio Food Bank has received a $10,000 grant from Kohl’s Cares to help neighbors across our 11-county coverage area to have access to fresh, nutritious food.
Food insecurity exists in every county, parish and borough in the United States, and in West Central Ohio, one in
10 people face hunger. Neighbors here are working, planning and making careful choices for their
families, yet high costs for food, housing, transportation and health care continue to stretch household budgets.
Support from this grant will assist the West Ohio Food Bank’s efforts in child hunger initiatives,
mobile pantries, SNAP outreach, policy and advocacy work, and help that more neighbors can easily access
the food and resources they need to thrive.
“Ending hunger requires bringing our communities together, and co-creating solutions that meet local needs,” said Tommie Harner, CEO of West Ohio Food Bank. “We’re deeply grateful for this flexible support from Kohl’s, which helps us respond to what neighbors say matters most to them.”
West Ohio Food Bank is one of 100 Feeding America partner food banks receiving funding from Kohl’s Cares to strengthen communities and support family health and wellness. Together with Feeding America, Kohl’s is working toward a future where every family has access to the food they need to thrive. Ending hunger takes all of us!
